Backstory
Bio
AC grew up on radio and television. As a boy, he often listened to the Olivine-sponsored radio plays, stories of sailors fighting evil on the high seas for humanity's protection. He preferred them over Goldenrod's adult soap operas and gritty news coverage. That was one of the reasons he became friends with Largo, a Slowpoke at the time- he wanted to join those sailors on their high speed, high seas fights for the future.
When the war ended, TV stations began to return- most importantly, the Jubilife Kids channel. It broadcasted a number of pre-war cartoons and children's shows, such as the Poketch Detective, The Professor Evolves Eight Times, and old recordings of Crasher Wake's wrestling matches. A number of other networks sprung up as well, such as Viridian Station's broadcasts of Great Trainer FireRed, an animated biography of the legendary Pallet trainer. It taught Aaron everything he currently knows about Pokemon and battling.
Most important of the pre-war shows, to Aaron, were the reruns of the legendary weekly tokusatsu, Masked Sweeper. It told the story of Hongo Kashite, an experiment in human weaponry by the evil Team Psyker. Using their evil technology, Team Psyker intended to alter Hongo's brain and body to create him into the ultimate weapon, capable of capturing the legendary Mew. Hongo escaped, and began fighting them to protect humanity from evil. It was a great show, with thrilling fights and inspiring monologues. And the plot twists were unpredictable- who could have foreseen Psyker being destroyed by their Umbra experiment? And Umbra becoming the series' true villian? And the Dark Sweeper? Man, it was a great show.
Aaron joined Valiant largely to imitate his childhood heroes- not just the Masked Sweeper, but every hero in every story he's ever read. To that end, he quotes as many different anime as he can think of, as the times call for it. Outside, he seems confident and self-assured. But inside, he's still just a kid- he's very trusting and naive, and always believes the best in people, especially when doing so could get him killed. Remember, he's just a kid who grew up in a small town- one could say that he doesn't belong fighting for his life against such powerful and mysterious enemies. But, as FireRed once said, "As long as I'm in this world, I will always fight for what's right!"
Joining Valiant
(From Go! Go! Masked Sweeper!)
Aaron meets Rock, beats up a Sinister, and joins Valiant as a bright-eyed kid hoping to live up to his superhero dreams.
Pokemon
![]()
Largo: The first Pokemon Aaron meets. As a Slowpoke, Largo was a fishing buddy from Aaron's childhood that evolved during Go Go! Masked Sweeper!. Simple and eager to please, Largo is one of Aaron's most dependable fighters and sources of comic relief.
![]()
Hongo: Aaron's second Pokemon. Originally a wild Heracross, he met Aaron after being attracted by the scent of his honey-covered Magikarp. The Heracross followed Aaron home, and began to idolize the Masked Sweeper just as Aaron did (the Sweeper's costume is based off of a Heracross design). He was eventually named after the hero. Strong and adamant, Hongo is Aaron's quickest fighter, able to make short work of a number of foes in seconds.
![]()
Soma: First met after Aaron joined Valiant. As a Gligar, Soma was the first Pokemon that Hongo had trouble defeating, and as such, the first Pokemon Aaron thought to capture. Soma is a tough Pokemon, but he always looks out for himself. More characterization to come.

Lorentz: Originally a Magnemite from New Mauville, Lorentz evolved into one of Aaron's main powerhouses. A Thunderbolt from this guy fucking hurts. More characterization to come.
![]()
Dune: Originally a Trapinch, Aaron met Dune in the hostile Hoenn desert. Aaron was thirsty, out of energy, and about to collapse when a Trapinch led him to a small shelter and shared its food with him. Happy to find a friend, the Trapinch followed Aaron and became part of his team. After evolving, Dune became Aaron's primary form of transport and main form of comic relief- Dune is a bit of a clown.

Axel: A Beldum given to him by an old Mossdeep couple. Although the newest member of the team, it's seen quite a few fights. Characterization to come.
Shenanigans
Viral's Heist Arc
Spurred into action by Viral's terrifying communication (mainly because it interrupted his show), AC sets off for Lilycove. He meets up with the Valiant Rock Typelord, Tsilini, and the two hatch a plan to enter the Dept. Store's basement by digging through the basement of the nearby Museum. Once inside, the two meet up with a frightened Lilycove guard. Together, the three travel upstairs to find Viral, the mastermind behind the heist, on the first floor. Tsilini quickly neutralizes him, while the guard runs off. AC pursues, only to find that the guard was actually an accomplice to the heist in disguise. After a brief chase, AC captures the criminal and sends him to jail.
AC leaves the city soon after, leaving Tsilini to clean up the jailbreak.
Mauville/ Valiant Callan
AC arrives at Mauville just in time to see Tsilini challenge Rock for leadership. Not knowing who to trust, he attempts to stop the fight. But to no avail- Rock sinks New Mauville and runs off. AC arrives on the other side of the lake just in time to see Rock defeat Tsilini in battle, and escape. With no other options, he takes Tsi to the Pokemon Center.
Once she regains consciousness, Tsilini makes a transmission to all of Valiant. Since AC has nothing to do, he plays some checkers. When something finally happens, AC kinda sits on the sidelines. After that, he decides to go home to watch some TV.
Global Event
Spurred out of Azalea by a terrifying TV transmission, AC flies to Olivine as quickly as possible. There, he finds a colossal bird terrorizing the city. Seeing no other options, he attacks it head on- and gets batted into a building. Undeterred, he gets back on Dune and fights that motherfucker some more, and attempts to lead it away from the city. Amazingly, the attacks begin to take their toll, and after a finishing move from ALEX, the beast falls into the ocean. AC goes to investigate, and picks up some blood. Awesome.
Also, Largo did his own thing somewhere. And AC got promoted to Multitype Lord. Is that even a position?
Volcanoes
After a brief debriefing with Bard, AC is assigned to escort the Legendary Moltres to Mt. Chimney. Once he and the rest of the party reach the peak, Bard goes lolinsane and tries to take Moltres for himself. He fails, and apparently defects or some shit. Afterwards, AC is assigned to guard the bird until more Valiants arrive.
Notes
- ↑ Leader of the people in Valiant who haven't decided on a type team.
