[edit] Backstory
Halcyon really did not involve himself too much in the affairs of the world. He was too busy looking after his pokemon on his ranch on Route 30. He took care of pokemon of all types in it. Trainers looking for their starter pokemon, elderly folks looking for a companion around the house, or trainers just looking for that one pokemon they could never find would often come to him. There was never a shortage of business, and there was never a shortage of work to do.
It all came to a stop after he came back from a trip to get feed in Cherrygrove. He comes back to find his ranch burned and littered with the carcasses of pokemon he was raising. Team Sinister's 'logo' was found burned into the field, so he assumes that it was Team Sinister who left him with nothing.
He was left the ranch as part of the last will and testament of Mr. Frank Fortuity, the previous owner. He had chosen him over his own son, who was going to donate the Ranch to Legend.
He was stung by a Beedrill when he was young, putting him near death. Intense scarring on his left arm still remains.
He truly does not know if Sinister is really responsible. According to one of Sinister's ex-operatives, Sinister does not go around labeling their work.
[edit] Pokemon
Kennard: Halcyon's newest partner, given to him by Dictator Dylan Dauntless after the death of Frost. The only pokemon that is older than he is, (Excluding Quondam, but does that really count?) He does not seem to share the same zest of life as Halcyon. He takes things much more seriously and calmly. He is also very quiet, more of an observer. He is intensely skilled in fighting, and always aims for an opponent's weak points.
Fiori: One of the survivors of the Ranch disaster, a Buneary at the time. Was taken by Frost into a burrow to hide. Started learning how to cook after seeing a Sneasel cooking on TV. Mischievous, likes to pull practical jokes. Prefers fighting with raw power instead of tactics. Always keeps a wooden cooking spoon handy in its ear fluff. She has also entered - and won - the Toughness Pokemon contest.
Emerald: The final survivor of the Ranch disaster. Found critically wounded and bleeding to death when Halcyon arrived back at the ranch. Curious and fun-loving, likes to explore and wander. Gets along especially well with Quondam, as they both share a curiosity in unknown places. Dislikes being milked. Loves alcohol, especially beer. Somewhat flirtatious to other male Pokemon. She has also entered - and won, to the dismay of others - the Beauty Pokemon contest.
Quondam: Revived from a fossil found when Halcyon was digging a grave. Does not get along with Halcyon as much as the other Pokemon, but they are still friends. Curious, wants to see how much the world has changed since prehistoric times. Gets along well with Emerald, who shares his love of exploration. Likes cooked food much more than raw food.
Soyara: Given to him as an egg by a red-haired guy with a cape. Relaxed, could spend an entire day laying out in the sun, sleeping. Likes to collect shiny objects, then gives them to Halcyon to hang on to, which he puts into an item PC. Likes being petted, but dislikes being the center of attention because she's a dragon-type. Evolved into a Dragonite during On The Road to Pewter City. Is now Halcyon's main form of transportation.
Rimy: Given to him by a cousin in Snowpoint, due to its disdain of the constant cold weather there. Loves people, and always starts off trusting someone until they give a reason not to be trusted. Loves warm areas, especially beaches, as it is a nice change from the frozen water of Snowpoint. Eats only white dairy-based foods, especially cheese, which resulted in her fur appearing to be 'shiny', even though she truly is not. Halcyon puts supplements into her food to keep her healthy. Sensitive to other people's opinion, it is easy to make her cry. Is somewhat jealous of Frost's job, and wishes she could be carried around by Halcyon.
Quarto: Found in Ecruteak being attacked by an overzealous Collector. A mute, cannot make a single sound. Likes to gather information, whether it be from watching television, listening to the radio, or being read books. Loves bitter foods, and will happily eat herbal medicines. Likes to be held, but does not like to be carried places. Loud sounds will make its fur stand on edge and grimace in pain. Dislikes sour foods, especially Lemonade.
Miasma: Found nearly poisoned to death from contaminated water. He is now fully recovered. His leaves still have the appearance be being dead, but they do fully function. His fruit is black, withered, and rotten, and is unfit to be eaten. He shies away from all humans, excluding Halcyon and Sting, and is outright terrified of Frost.
Murasaki: Halcyon's lifelong partner. Despite being a ghost-type, she and Halcyon got along very well. She had hatched the same day that Halcyon was born. Kind and helpful, and is willing to go out of her way to help a person in need. She is also sneaky, and relishes in scaring people. Presumed to have died in the Ranch Disaster, but is unknown due to her body never being recovered.
Frost: Deceased. One of the survivors of the Ranch disaster. Hid in a burrow hidden by a rock during the disaster. She was shot, and killed, during the thread Set Sail For The Orb of the Sea!
