[edit] Appearance
Lucerne is hardly the most imposing person. Standing at a most unimpressive 5'2", she looks up at pretty much everyone. At barely 20 years old, she also looks quite young, and the only thing that might make her look in any way competent is her level, clear blue gaze. Her face is full and framed by a mousy brown bob, with a thin mouth that looks quite misplaced. She has thin, frail arms with long fingers. Her nails of late, however, have been rather unkempt. She is wiry and far from strong, but underestimating her might be a costly mistake.
[edit] Personality
There is not much to say about Lucerne's personality, as there is not much of one to begin with. It has been speculated that she once had feelings, but they have long since disappeared. She is more than a bit of a sociopath, and she finds emoting difficult. Somehow, her logic is still often clouded, mostly by her fanatical devotion to Arceus and Team Legend. She is not very intelligent, and because of her upbringing, she has a very difficult time socializing.

Lucerne grew up in a small cabin hidden in the woods of Snowpoint with only her parents and their Pokemon. An only child, she had no socialization at all for the first 17 years of her life. Her parents were rebellious Neutrals who constantly brought down any Legend patrols in the area. They would go out and actively hunt out scouting groups, as their own little contribution to taking down Legend. Lucerne, gifted only with an Eevee, Orion, never accompanied them and rarely left the cabin. Her parents did teach her a lot of things (wilderness survival, math, reading, science, etc.), and she did accrue some immunity to cold, but she was otherwise useless as a human being.
Despite being told of the sheer evil of Legend, for some reason, she felt the opposite way about everything they told her. Arceus seemed to be a savior to her, who was locked in a cabin most of the time only with an Eevee as company. The thought of some higher being out there appealed immensely to her, and she realized that by joining Legend, she would be able to become one of his favored children, instead of being looked down upon because of her parents. It was bound to happen one day... Lucerne finally snapped. One morning she sneaked out of the house to try and find a Legend patrol and bring them to the cabin. Not only did she not locate one, but when she got back, her parents were gone. Warned of her intentions by her mother's Girafarig, they had fled the area, never to be seen by Lucerne again. What she did find when she returned, however, was a ghastly white figure that floated in the middle of the room. With only an Eevee at her disposal, she thought that the Froslass, scourge of the winter, would kill her. It turned out instead that the Ghost wished to join her on her quest to become a member of Legend. And so, Lucerne left on a journey to join Team Legend.
Lucerne, despite all her parents had told her, was quite ignorant on how to actually become a member. Instead of going to the nearby Snowpoint base, she traveled down Mount Coronet in search of Hearthome, which she was sure must have been the main base. On her journey, she evolved Orion to a Jolteon, who stayed by her side at all times. When on the slopes of Mount Coronet, every night she was attacked by a Charmeleon, and every night, Orion beat him without a second thought. Her last night on the mountain, the Charmeleon prostrated himself before her, and soon became a member of the team as well. He considered himself her bodyguard, but ended up getting to do a lot less of that than anticipated.
By the time Lucerne joined Legend at age 18, about 4 days after her birthday, she had also come into possession of a Ninetales and Houndoom. Her last Pokemon she caught actually inside the base, a rather strange Chimecho. She was a soldier from then on, willing to do whatever it took for Legend to succeed... even die.
Her first few months in Legend were rather frustrating. She did not know how to deal with people and was vaguely agoraphobic. She eventually developed a lack of personality to help cope with this, and while people viewed her as cold and heartless, it just helped her have to deal with them less. She was dutiful and hardworking, never shirking her duty or slacking off. For a while, she was the perfect soldier. She did not ask questions and thought for herself very little. And so she was promoted to Bishop, which left her listless. Her life changed drastically, though, when she started falling in with the higher ups. It was that series of circumstances that allowed her to become Archbishop... to her constant puzzlement.
[edit] Seriously, what's with the umbrella?
Lucerne almost always has an umbrella with her. It is red and tipped with a long, thin needle. Constantly surrounded by strangers during her early days in Legend, Lucerne felt vulnerable and frightened. To be able to deal with this, she needed a sort of comfort item... one she could defend herself with from all the scary people around her. The closest thing she could find was practical and functional, and so Lucerne became reliant on the umbrella, always keeping it with her. In more recent times, she has been less able to rely on it, as her duties oftentimes get in the way. But when she is on base, be sure that she will have it in her hand or at her side.

Orion the Jolteon- Male. Lucerne's first Pokemon. Hatched from the egg of her parents' Glaceon. Evolved during her trip to Hearthome. Typically calm and level-headed, but with an inexplicable temper.
Siona the Froslass- Female. Waited in Lucerne's house until she returned once her parents fled. Wanted to join Legend herself, for reasons unknown and undisclosed. Evolved prior to Lucerne's capture of her. Manipulative and sly, as well as a particularly accomplished battler. Very mysterious.
Rogus the Charizard- Male. Stalked Lucerne and challenged her to nightly battles on Mount Coronet. Lost consistently. Eventually joined her and became very protective of her. Evolved during her early days in Legend. Has a rather gruff personality.
Naomi the Ninetales- Female. Very diligent and almost sweet.
Seera the Houndoom- Female. Unflinching in her loyalty.
Knell the Chimecho- Male. A real oddball. Hard to put your finger on what he's up to.
Dunsparce- Male. Caught on The Six Island Mission. No one knows why she keeps him around.
Eru the Gallade- Male. Lucerne's right-hand Pokemon. Caught while stranded on Two Island with now-Bishop Webster. Irritatingly intelligent. Makes sure that Lucerne doesn't kill herself. A very useful habit.
Leader the Weavile- Male. The leader of a Weavile pack encountered in the Snowpoint woods on a training mission. Gave Lucerne a nasty cut on her forehead. Very difficult to control.
Euroi the Natu- Male. The first Natu Lucerne caught in an attempt to make a functioning Teleportation network. Very friendly and trustworthy.
Eira the Natu- Female. The second of Lucerne's Natu. Shares a special connection with Eru. Quiet and sweet.
Natu- Male. Teleported Lucerne to Cianwood against her will. Troublesome.
Magcargo- Male. Obtained mysteriously by Eru and her two Natu.
Starmie- Genderless. Obtained at the same time as the Magcargo.
