§1. Godmodding
Godmodding is “taking control of another character without their consent or committing an act that cannot be reacted against”. Godmodding is expressly forbidden in all forms, and if there is a dispute over whether an action is godmodding it should be taken to the moderating team for review.
§1.1 Chekhov's Gun Clause
If you set a gun on the table, it will eventually be used. However, if you say 'I set an object on the table,' or some other vague statement, which could be interpreted in different ways, the action is invalid as it leads to creating an object that was not there to begin with, at convenience. Also covered are vaguely mentioning spies, business calls that fade to black, and concealed but unmentioned weapons.
§1.2 Death clause*
All player characters are immune from superficial and inglorious deaths. Among the definition of superficial and inglorious are deaths by nameless NPCs, wild Pokémon, and gunfire. If a player character is put into a compromising or consented situation☨ by another player character; i.e. scizor at throat or consented gun to forehead, then one character may kill another. A compromising situation cannot be avoided by claiming to be unkillable.
§2. Consent
Any action which causes a significant amount of danger or abuse towards a player character whom is not in a compromising situation☨ must be given consent by the victim.
In addition, all rules marked with an asterisk* can be ignored if consent is given by both parties.
§3. PD Canon
PD gets its canon from a plethora of different sources, but the primary source are the games themselves. A good number of pokedex entries are non-canon, and the anime is considered universally non-canon.
Stuff we decide > Main Games > Side Games > Manga > Anime
§4. Legendaries
Legendaries are considerably stronger in the RP than they are in the Pokémon metagame. Those in control of a Legendary should roleplay them appropriately.
§5. Trainer Cards
All posters who are signed up for the RP must use a Trainer Card as their avatar showing their current team. It need not be in specific order, but a trainer card giving the basic appearance of the character, their rank, title, and team, is required as soon as possible after creating a character.
§6. Threads
In order to keep things organized and for members to be able to know if they can join a thread at a glance, all RP threads require a few things in the subtitle line. -Thread Date. What day(s) the thread takes place on. Moderators can change this so that it's a range of dates, if need be. -Thread Location. Where in the world the thread occurs. As with dates, moderators can add in further locations. Only major locations are needed - Snowpoint or Mt Moon, not Snowpoint Base or Mt Moon Cavern 32c.
§7. Major Plans
If a major plan could involve the extensive use or grazing of any rule in this list, it should be brought before the moderating team.
A note: Plans that are laid out in a previous thread rather than brought up at the last moment tend to be better received.
§8. Teleporting
The revised rules on teleporting are set in concrete, and anyone seen not adhering to the rules will be asked to edit their post, or a moderator will edit it for them. A Pokémon must take around eighteen seconds to prepare, become mentally focused, and set a destination before teleporting. During this time the Pokémon is vulnerable and cannot defend itself. A Pokémon can teleport once per day. Multiple Pokémon may be used to teleport several times per day, but the same buildup must be used. Psychic power does not factor into the time needed to teleport. A player character can only be forcefully teleported if they are in a compromising situation. A Pokémon can only teleport to a major location, such as a city, or a significant location in the character's memory, such as a secret base or home.
§9. Alts
All alts must be declared by the player who creates them. Players who do not declare alts will have them deleted.
§9.1 Alt Leadership Clause
An alt may only take a position of leadership if the current leaders of the faction agree unanimously.
§9.2 Leader Inactivity Clause
If a character in a leadership position is inactive for an arbitrary amount of time, whether the character is unused or the player is missing or gone, they will remain in the position unless another person wants to acquire the position. The former character will be killed or retired, depending upon the faction, and the latter will be the new typelord.
If a player is to be gone for an extended period of time, their position can be held with the faith it will not be taken away if the player notifies the moderators. The amount of time absent must be specified, so that the moderators know when to open the position up to askers.
§10. Moderators
The moderators have final say on all matters. If the mod-base is split in opinion, or one moderator disagrees with another moderator's decision, they will discuss privately and come up with a resolution within 24 hours.
§11. Signing Up
To sign up a new main character or alt, a player must post a suitable description in the sign up thread. A basic physical description, one paragraph summary of the concept of the character, and a complete trainer card fulfills a typical description.
§12. Maturity
A level of maturity is required in the RP at all times. Please try and avoid intently circumventing rules, cliches, trolling or generally being disagreeable.
§13. Elastic Clause
The moderators have the power to interpret these rules actively or retroactively as they wish. If there is a disagreement on the interpretation of these rules between moderators, it will go to a vote.
§14. Off-Team Pokémon
Pokémon not on your team's list will not listen to you. While having one is allowed, they must be cleared with the moderators beforehand, and you must have a valid reason (as determined by the moderators) for having it.
☨A compromising situation involves any confrontation where the victim is unable to defend themselves in any way to avoid being killed. Godmodding is not an acceptable action to avoid a simple thing such as death. It is up to the player that put them in this situation as to what they wish to do with the other character. Death is not always the end to a compromising situation.
